Pavlos Bouchagier is an Agronomist, a graduate of the Plant Production department of the Agricultural University of Athens (admission year 1987). After completing his undergraduate studies and after fulfilling his military obligations, he undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Reading (UK) in the field of Tropical Agriculture. He then returned to Greece and carried out doctoral studies, as a Scholar of the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY), at the Agricultural University of Athens, in the Department of Plant Production, in the field of Allelopathy (year of award July 2005).

Since 2006 he has been teaching at the (then) Department of Organic Agriculture of the TEI of the Ionian Islands, while since 2007 he has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Ionian University.

In the period 2008-2010 he served Head of the Department of Biological Agriculture and Food Technology of the Ionian University.

He has taught in postgraduate study programs of the Agricultural University of Athens and the University of Patras, he has supervised 3 postgraduate studies and was a member of a three-member advisory committee in a doctoral thesis.

He has written articles published in recognized scientific journals that follow the referee system and in international and Greek conferences.

He has successfully completed, as a Scientific Officer, more than 10 projects co-financed by European Resources.

Outside of academic activity, he was active in the field of Quality Assurance, as a Quality Systems Inspector and Assessor of the National Quality System (National Accreditation System).
