Academic Textbooks

According to Joint Ministerial Decision No. 80650/Z1/2026 (Government Gazette 3631/19-06-2026, Series B):

Undergraduate students enrolled in a first-cycle study programme at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) leading to the award of a first or second degree are entitled to select and receive free of charge one (1) textbook for each compulsory or elective course included in their curriculum, provided that they have not exceeded the maximum duration of studies as defined in Article 76 of Law 4957/2022.

Eligible HEI students may choose one (1) textbook for each compulsory and elective course of their study programme from the complete catalogue of recommended textbooks available through the Central Information System (CIS) of the “EUDOXUS” information system.

The selection of textbooks by HEI students is carried out exclusively through the “EUDOXUS” information system. To complete the process, students must register and/or log in to the Central Information System (CIS) of “EUDOXUS”, where they are authenticated through the Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure (AAI) of GRNET S.A. (Greek Research and Technology Network). Students then select one (1) textbook for each declared compulsory or elective course in their study programme.

At the same time as selecting textbooks, students declare through the “EUDOXUS” information system, by accepting the terms of use, that the selected textbook corresponds to a course that they have officially registered for with the Secretariat of their Department during the current academic semester. This declaration constitutes a solemn declaration within the meaning of and subject to the consequences provided by Law 1599/1986 (Government Gazette A’ 75). Students are not permitted to select a textbook corresponding to a course for which they have already successfully completed the examination.

The selection of textbooks for each compulsory or elective course is separate from the course registration process, which is carried out by students in accordance with the relevant announcements published on the website of their respective HEI Department.

The personal data of students processed for the implementation of the registration, login, textbook selection, and free textbook distribution procedures through the “EUDOXUS” information system are as follows:

(a) Full name,

(b) Mobile phone number,

(c) Personal email address,

(d) Student registration number, Department, Institution,

(e) Semester of study,

(f) Enrollment status (Active/Inactive),

(g) Standard HTTP request diagnostic metadata.

Upon completion of the textbook selection process, each eligible HEI student immediately receives a Personal Identification Number (PIN) via email. By presenting this PIN, the student may collect the selected printed textbooks free of charge from the designated distribution points.
